Did you know?

Most liquor license applications need to be publicly notified depending on the type of licence sought. Most new applications require a 28 day advertising period.

Mandatory training in responsible management of licensed venues is required for all licensees or nominees of the application. The Office of Liquor, Gaming Regulation undertakes a criminal history check on all applicants (licensees or nominees). All applications for liquor licenses must provide evidence of town planning approval.

Applications for new licences usually take about four months to process, longer if there are public objections. There is no guarantee that the liquor licence will be granted. Application fees vary depending on the type of liquor license sought (eg. $5000 for a hotel or tavern, $1000 for a motel or restaurant etc).
